Wicked Weather coming, and more!
From Worcester to Wellfleet; East Brookfield to Eastham, I've got you covered
Wicked Storm
Hey everybody! Hunker down once again because the Bay State is about to get hammered, or so they are saying. But you know how that goes. Storm of the century, and it turns out to be a dusting. Let’s hope that will turn out to be the case. In the meantime, you may want to brace yourself for some high winds, lots o’ rain and even some snow, depending on where you’re located. The Berkshires have been told hazardous weather is imminent, beginning Sunday. Way over on the coast there has been a gale watch issued for Sunday and Monday. Springfield and Worcester County should expect thunder and big wind gusts on Sunday.

New Furniture Store
A former employee of Rotmans has taken the bull by the horns and is opening her own shop after Rotmans closed down just over a year ago. Heidi Richardson, together with about a dozen more Rotmans alums are opening Harte’s Home Furniture & Mattress near the intersection of Route 20 and 395 in Auburn. That’s a fabulous location! Richardson says her time at Rotmans was much more than just a job — her colleagues became like family. Richardson is the motivator behind the project, and owns 75% of the venture. The 37,000-foot building will offer furnishings and home entertainment items. Harte’s Home opens Saturday, December 9th. Good luck, Heidi and crew!
They Wooed A New Owner
The Worcester Red Sox have been purchased by Diamond Baseball Holdings, according to a press release made this week by WooSox heavy hitters. (Ooo see what I did there?) The holdings company will own the majority of the Woo Sox stock, with Ralph Crowley, Jim Skeffington, Jr. and Larry Lucchino staying with the organization. The team will play at Polar Park, as always.
Spencer Christmas Parade Saturday
When I lived in Spencer, this was one of my favorite things. The Christmas Parade of Lights is happening in Spensah this Saturday from 6:45 to 9 p.m. As a result, Route 9 in Spencer will be closed for several hours, so plan accordingly.

I Hope That Someone Gets My Message In A Bottle
Well, someone did! Twenty-six years later! You may have seen this story circulating around the internet and social media last month. A kid in Sandwich more than two decades ago put a letter in a bottle, and it was not only received in France, but garnered a reply from the person who found the message in the bottle. The Oak Ridge School assignment given to fifth graders back in 1997 included a list of questions which the French man actually answered. The man, who was picking up trash on the west coast of France in August, answered the questions and mailed his reply back to the school in Massachusetts!
Hyannis Man Held On Dangerousness Charges
A man who shot his wife in Hyannis on Thanksgiving Day had reportedly recently been in prison for five years on firearm charges. The man faces a lengthy list of charges. He is being held on “dangerousness” charges and will appear in court in January for a Probable Cause Hearing and a probation hearing. The man’s wife sustained gunshot wounds to her left hand and the right side of her chest. One of the charges is Assault & Battery on a family or household member.
